The Hamilton Community Justice Fund is pleased to present Phil Gurski (President and CEO of Borealis Threat & Risk Consulting - www.borealisthreatandrisk.com) as he discusses "How bad is the terrorist threat to Canada and how worried should Canadians be? - An Insider's Perspective".

Phil Gurski was the senior strategic analyst at CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) from 2001-2013, specializing in Al Qaeda-inspired violent extremism and radicalization. He has also served as senior special advisor in the National Security Directorate at Public Safety Canada and as consultant for the Ontario Provincial Police's Anti-Terrorism Section (PATS). Mr. Gurski has presented on Al Qaeda-inspired violent extremism and radicalization across Canada and around the world. He is the author of "The Threat from Within: Recognizing Al Qaeda-inspired Radicalization and Terrorism in the West"

Mr. Gurski's talk will be followed by a panel discussion which will include Hamilton Police Chief Eric Girt; North American Spiritual Revival Senior Youth Mentor Kamran Bhatti; John Howard Society Executive Director Ruth Greenspan; and from the Hamilton Downtown Mosque, Imam Sayed Tora.

Proceeds from the event will be distributed to Hamilton Youth Support Programs through the Hamilton Community Justice Fund.
