How to be an Ally: Loving a Trans Person
This interactive workshop organized by Toni Marlow (www.tonimarlow.com) and is opened to anyone who wants to unlearn what society has taught us about the gender binary, and learn about the trans experience from the trans community. In this workshop, participants will learn how to be an ally to transgender people and in particular, with folks who you have personal relationships with. This second part of our series and includes: panel sessions, open Q&A, and a breakout session in which participants can choose to delve deeper into what it means to be a supportive parent/guardian of a trans child, or how to be an ally in regards to dating a trans person. Light refreshments will be provided. This event is hosted on a Saturday to open access to folks who might otherwise be unable to attend during work days or evenings.
There is child minding, food and ASL!
