Description

What's the best use for your money?

How do you decide if an expenditure is a good idea or not?

In other words, should you spend your money on that thing or in that way? Why or why not?

The main question is this: Are you making wise choices that are in your highest, best interests when it comes to your finances?

A commonly-held belief is that budgeting is the best tool to help you apportion your money and achieve your financial goals. The problem is that most of the time, budgets don't work.

Many people who try to stick to a budget find that they're not happy with the results. They end up with less in savings than they'd like and they don't derive pleasure from the money they do spend. It can be very frustrating.

One of the biggest challenges we all face is that there are many spending options vying for every dollar.

For example, how do you decide if a gym membership is a good idea? You definitely want to get fit and you've heard great things about the gym, but the cost makes you hesitate. Is it a good idea? Does it really make sense in light of the cost?

You're trying to get rid of credit card debt once and for all, so you eliminate all so-called non-essential spending, like going out to restaurants. But is that really what it takes? Does that even make sense for you?

In fact, should you be focused on reducing your debt, or does another priority make more sense?

Maybe things are tight financially and you think you should let the cleaner go. It seems like such an unnecessary expense, but the thought of it depresses you. Now you're staring down yet another task to add to your already overfull plate, but you just can't justify the cost. Or so you tell yourself.

Is it really wise to say goodbye to the cleaner? Skip the outings with friends? Take a pass on the gym membership?

That's what we're tackling at this month's Women's Money Group Meetup. We'll share a simple, values-based approach that helps to eliminate uncertainty and indecision without pulling out a spreadsheet. It blows budgeting out of the water in terms of its effectiveness.

One of our members has been applying this system for the last year and she recently described it as "freeing". Now, decision-making is much simpler and faster. This approach has also saved her a lot of money, which she admits she would freely have spent in the past.

How would it feel to be able to say that about your finances, too?

The following is a partial list of the items we'll address at the meetup:

  • How to determine your most important values

  • Identifying mindset issues that may be getting in the way of achieving clarity

  • Creating value statements that resonate deeply with you

  • Determining the order of importance among your values

  • Developing values-based goals to guide your spending

  • How to apply this system to your spending (this is where the rubber meets the road)

  • How to decide between two choices when both are congruent with your values, but there isn't enough cash to fund them both

  • Coaching for those who are having trouble identifying their values

Special Guest

In addition to the above, we will interview a special guest, one of our Women's Money Group members, who has created impressive results by consistently applying our values-based system. Come listen to her journey and the specific steps she used to take her finances to the next level.

If you're concerned or embarrassed about the thought of having to disclose personal information, you can rest easy. This is a judgment-free, safe zone where you participate only if you choose to. If you'd prefer to watch quietly and absorb the discussions, that's perfectly fine.

Are you new to the Women's Money Group? Then come check it out! We're all about Education, Empowerment and Community.

It doesn't matter where you live, because we are now live-streaming the meetings!

You can catch anything you missed on the recording.

If you've never used Zoom before, it's super simple to set up. Just click on the link that I send you and follow the instructions.

You can attend your first meeting for $30 plus tax. You will easily get 10 times that value at the meeting! Click on the link below to register.
