Are you addicted to your morning coffee creamer, cheese pizza or ice ceam dessert but feeling congested, inflammed, or bloated? About 75 percent of the world's population is genetically unable to properly digest milk and other dairy products — a problem called lactose intolerance. As result, you might be experiencing uncomfortable symptoms regularly without realizing their direct correlation to dairy.

This workshop is designed to educate you on the abundant plant-based alternatives to dairy. Sarah will debunk the dairy myth and discuss her favourite calcium rich plant-based foods that will keep bones healthy and strong. Everyone will learn how to make homemade chocolate amond milk and a baked butternut macaroni & tease.

Sarah Heavenor Nutrition

Sarah is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist (CNP) with a drive to promote healthy and holistic living. She completed her education at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Vancouver, graduating with first class honors. Along with nutrition, Sarah is also a certified Yoga Instructor with specialized training in Hatha Yoga, Ayurvedic Medicine and Pranayama Breathing. Sarah places a big emphasis on eating locally grown foods when possible and incorporating a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables into the diet on a daily basis. She enjoys educating others about the benefits of alternative medicine and living a sustainable healthy lifestyle.

Sarah is very passionate about helping patients strengthen their relationship with food as she works extensively on healthy weight management, body image and mindfulness practices. Other areas of interest include healthy stress management, hormone balancing, daily detoxification, and digestive support.

Sarah’s top priority as a health care practitioner is to create a space in which one can be vulnerable, connect, grow, learn, and most importantly succeed. No change happens overnight. Sarah believes that when balance, moderation and mindfulness are incorporated into daily life true sustainability is possible. Not only is she passionate about holistic nutrition to support her own health, but also connecting with others and being a part of their journey to health and happiness.
