Join me for a hands-on workshop in downtown Toronto

In this 3 hour workshop, offered in a bright and airy training facility, participants will have a hands-on experience. The session will be interactive, where you will have an opportunity to get your burning LinkedIn questions answered.  You will learn how to leverage LinkedIn to showcase your own expertise as well as how to use it to promote your business.  You will be required to bring your own laptop or tablet (to access LinkedIn through a browser). Please note:  The training venue is on the upper floor and only accessible by a flight of stairs.

Part I - How to Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile to Showcase Your Expertise

  • Get best practice tips writing a compelling summary
  • Learn how to voice the most common LinkedIn mistakes

Part II - How to Build Your Network to Increase Your Visibility Online

  • Know the right way to add connections to avoid the number one pitfall on LinkedIn

  • Learn how to increase your visibility on LinkedIn by sharing regular status updates
  • Understand how to post different types of status updates:  text link, image, video
  • Have greater confidence using LinkedIn by knowing the proper rules of "netiquette"

Part III - Using LinkedIn for Finding and Engaging with Customers and Prospects

  • Learn how to conduct targeted searches to identify potential clients and decision makers

  • Use the concept of 6 degrees of separation to reach potential prospects

  • Know the technique to avoiding making a "cold call" 

  • Learn how to set up a FREE LinkedIn Company Page for your own business

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No. This event is open to individuals of all ages, as long as you have a LinkedIn account.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The venue is located in downtown Toronto.  The nearest intersection is Queen/Spadina.  The nearest subway station is Osgoode (12 minute walk).  It's also a 2 minute walk from the concenient Spadina streetcar line stop.  Green P parking is allowed on Queen Street West.  

What else do I need to know about the venue?

You will need to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the training room. 

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring your laptop computer.  Or, a tablet where you can access LinkedIn through a browser (not the app). 

What's the refund policy?

Full refund if cancelled within 7 days of the event.  Tickets are transferable.

I am your ultimate LinkedIn "InSider", having worked at LinkedIn in both Toronto and London, UK offices for 5 ½ years. As the very first  Sr. Customer Success Manager hired in the new division called Sales Solutions, I worked with our largest global clients such as SAP, IBM, Xerox, Oracle, Vodafone, Symantec, and others. I advised senior sales leaders how to scale Social Selling within their organizations.

Rarely a week passed without one of my clients asking if I could deliver on-site training - which I couldn’t do very often.  I am now pleased to offer in person, hands-on workshops in the Toronto region - and beyond.

On the personal side, I am an avid connector who thrives on cultivating relationships. I have combined my two great interests - both networking and marketing – so it fits that I now offer LinkedIn workshops and consulting because I believe in the power of our personal and extended networks.

Being on the LinkedIn platform since 2003 as member number 34,445 puts me in the super “early adopter” category – especially when you consider that there are now over 546 million members on LinkedIn worldwide. I’ve made it my business to learn as much about the tool and its applications as possible – even as it regularly changes – and now impart that expertise to my clients. As the “go-to” LinkedIn resource among my peers and clients, I have regularly spoken about social media and LinkedIn at conferences and business events, and have been published in trade magazines.
