Description

How to really mess up your identity management project

Tried and true techniques for turning your project into a multi-million dollar fiasco — and a few tips from successful implementations too!

Identity management is the absolute foundation of cybersecurity. Being able to confidently articulate who has access to my stuff, what can they access, and should they really have that access is one of the most basic questions you can ask. And yet it's hard! Most organizations have hundreds of systems and thousands of users with people coming and going on a daily basis. Managing all of this, consistently, is hard. There are tools that can help and yet many organizations stumble during the implementation. In this talk, Richard will share his experience from the trenches: why are these implementations hard, why do these projects turn into disasters, and how can you make your identity management implementation successful?

Richard Hakim is a security consultant, strategist and architect. He is equally comfortable talking to your CIO or your sysadmin. He has helped organizations define their security strategy, helped his clients justify multi-million dollar security investments, and led complex multi-year projects with hundreds of team members.
