Event description

Description

Green Energy Doors Open is an energy education communications campaign and annual showcase of individual, community, and commercial sustainable energy projects across the province. The initiative aims to showcase advancements in the sector, demonstrating that Ontario is already on the path to building a 100% clean, and sustainable energy system.

As part of this showcase, Wilfrid Laurier University will be hosting an event at the new Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. Our GEDO session will explore the opportunities and challenges of energy conservation and efficiency in operations faced by post-secondary institutions through the Laurier lens. We will discuss innovative approaches to energy efficiency and reducing our carbon footprint. A VR video will be presented to set the scene, followed by an interactive panel discussion comprised of local energy experts.

These panelists will include:

  • Robert McCallum, Laurier Project Manager, ESCO
  • Jeff Quint, Manager of Energy Conservation & Corporate Communications, Waterloo North Hydro
  • Matthew Day, RSI Program Manager, Sustainable Waterloo Region
  • Brian Del Vecchio, Senior Account Executive, Project & Business Development, Building Efficiency, Johnson Controls

The event is open to members of both the Laurier community and general public.
