Event description

Description

As volunteers, many of you will come into contact with students who have traumatic pasts. This workshop will present information on trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), particularly as it applies to newcomers. We will talk about how you can support students in your role as a volunteer, as well as what other resources may be available to provide more support to students in need. We will also present strategies for self-care, since some of the stories students tell can be very distressing. There will be opportunities for questions and discussion.

Registration on Eventbrite is required as the room is small and I need to know how many are attending.

Please park in McNabb Community Centre Parking. The classroom is located in the Richard Pfaff Alternative School. Sign in at the school office (at the desk in the hall) and follow the signs to the classroom on the east side of the building.

Thank you for volunteering. Looking forward to meeting you in person.
