Why Capable People Suffer from Impostor Syndrome and How to Thrive in Spite of It

Dr. Valerie Young (impostersyndrome.com) will be joining us for an interactive workshop on how to deal with Imposter Syndrome and we'll take some time to mingle and network as well.

So, you may be asking, what's imposter syndrome and do I have it?
Here's the Imposter Syndrome Quiz from impostersyndrome.com:

  • Do you chalk your success up to luck, timing, or computer error?

  • Do you believe “If I can do it, anybody can”?

  • Do you agonize over even the smallest flaws in your work?

  • Are you crushed by even constructive criticism, seeing it as evidence of your “ineptness?”

  • When you do succeed, do you secretly feel like you fooled them again?

  • Do you worry that it’s just a matter of time before you’re “found out?”

If so join the club!

Millions of people around the world from CEOs to Ph.D.s, to Academy Award Winning actors secretly believe they’re not as bright or capable as everyone “thinks” they are. It’s called the impostor syndrome — or the impostor phenomenon as it is more accurately known in the world of psychology.

At this event, Valerie will help us all get a handle on these tricky thoughts that get in the way of enjoying our successes!

Event Schedule:
6:00-6:30pm - Registration & Networking

6:30-8:00pm - Workshop with Dr. Valerie Young
8:00-8:30pm - Wrap up & Networking

Refreshments and canapes will be served.
