Description

In this workshop, award winning author and Ryerson University journalism professor Kamal Al-Solaylee will guide participants in the art of developing, pitching, researching, reporting and polishing a short or midsize magazine feature for the Canadian market. The course is intended for beginners.

Kamal Al-Solaylee is the author of the national bestselling memoir Intolerable: A Memoir of Extremes (Toronto Book Award 2013), and Brown: What Being Brown in the World Today Means (to Everyone), that won the 2016 Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing. He has been a distinguished writer at The Globe and Mail, and has written reviews and features on arts and politics for all major Canadian publications, including Toronto Star, National Post, The Walrus, Toronto Life, Chatelaine, Quill & Quire and Literary Review of Canada.
