16 Bars - Opening Night | Friday, December 6 | 6:30 PM: A glimpse into the human stories and songs that are locked away in America's prison system. Join renowned artist "Speech" from Arrested Development and the film's director to hear about this unique rehabilitation technique.

The Two Faces of a Bamileke Woman - Saturday, December 7 | 3:30 PM: Rosine Mbakam returns to her native Cameroon after leaving the country for Belgium at age 27. Mother and daughter meet—the elder woman sharing stories of French colonial rule and daily life in a repressive political climate.

The Great Mother - Saturday, December 7 | 6:30 PM: In Miami, immigration activist Nora Sandigo witnessed a crisis of U.S. born children being separated from their undocumented parents. Watch the film that follows a woman who became a legal guardian to over 1,000 children facing separation.

Ximei - Sunday, December 8 | 3:30 PM: Ximei is a hugely inspiring activist on behalf of HIV-positive Chinese peasants in Henan Province. Ximei, who was infected when she was only 10, works locally, nationally, and internationally to raise awareness of the dire situation, and efforts that are constantly undermined by officials.

Rewind - Sunday December 8th 6:30 PM: Digging through the vast collection of his father’s home videos, a young man reconstructs the unthinkable story of his boyhood and exposes vile abuse passed through generations.

Forget Me Not - Monday, December 9 | 6:30 PM: What makes a mother give away her baby? This is the big question in Sun Hee Engelstoft’s poignant heartbreaker of a film about three Korean women who have become pregnant outside of marriage and are now hiding from the outside world until they give birth.

Unsettled - Closing Night | Tuesday, December 10 | 6:30 PM: This very special screening will take place on International Human Rights Day. Unsettled is a feature-length documentary revealing the untold stories of LGBTQ refugees and asylum seekers who have fled intense persecution from their home countries and who are resettling in the U.S.
