About this event
HOP (Human and Organizational Performance) is based on five principles that shape and influence the way organizations think, act, view success, and respond to failure. These five principles are integrative and work together to change the way we think about work and how to improve it.
This one-day workshop is divided into 3 separate though connected topics that are designed to help build your knowledge, understanding, and assist you in integrating the HOP principles within your organization.
Part 1: Safety in the ‘new normal’
In this section we will explore:
- The origins and successes of conventional safety
- The unintended consequences of conventional safety
- Complexity, systems, and the need to evolve
Part 2: The Five Principles of HOP
In this section we will explore what the five principles mean in practice:
- Human Error is Normal
- Blame Fixes Nothing
- Learning Is Vital
- Context Drives Behaviour
- How You Respond to Failure Matters
Part 3: Ways to operationalize HOP in your organization
In this section we will explore how the HOP principles:
- Increase the organizational ability to learn and improve
- Help us evolve into a better definition of ‘safety’
- Help move us towards highly reliable and resilient performance
