Event description

Description

Directed by Ai WeiWei, "Human Flow” is a sprawling and heartbreaking exploration of the global refugee crisis. Captured over the course of a year in 23 countries, the film follows a chain of urgent stories that stretches through Afghanistan, Greece, Iraq, Kenya, Mexico, Turkey and beyond. The UN's Sustainable Development Goals represent a touchstone for humanity to address global problems, including people who flee due to famine (SDG 2), climate change (SDG 13) and war (SDG 16). GECCO (the Global Empowerment Coalition of the Central Okanagan, a Chapter of the BC Council for International Cooperation) and Okanagan College invite you to join them April 29th for a screening and livestream event. Note: As this is a livestream event, Ai WeiWei will not be present in person, and the event will not be broadcast from the College.
