If You Love Somebody, Set Them on Fire: Fire Play 101

The heat and intensity of fire are what draw us to this type of edge play, but it’s also what makes it dangerous. In this Fire Play Workshop, we will learn, step by step, how to set up a fire play scene.

From fire safety 101 we will learn how to safely handle fire, what fuel to use and why. We will become comfortable with handling fire ourselves in a controlled environment, before even thinking of applying it to another person. Basic precautions and emergency care will be discussed as well as how to develop a plan for the worst-case scenario.

Supplies will be provided for workshop participants to follow along with the instructions and create their own torches for use in applying fire to themselves and a bottom (with instructor approval). For online classes, a supply list will be provided so that you can create your own fire wand & try the techniques when you feel ready.

Two basic fire play techniques will be taught in the workshop; a direct and indirect method of play. Participants will learn how to safely apply each technique and properly time each to avoid burning their bottom’s skin.

If time allows, a demo using the violet wand for fire play will be done, with instructions on how to do it.

This workshop contains both a lecture-style portion and a hands-on portion. While no one is expected to do anything that they do not feel comfortable with, it is encouraged that everyone participates in the hands-on portion of the workshop to get the most out of this class.

Morgan Thorne (Nymphetamean) draws on not only her many years in kink but also her experience as a circus sideshow performer, first with Circus of the Damned, as a solo performer and currently with Triage Sideshow to teach the art of fire play. While fire play for kinky purposes is different than performance, many aspects are the same.

Cupping in BDSM: Fire Cupping, Wet Cupping & More

Cupping can be a fun and versatile type of play. Fire cupping can be exciting, put on a good show and be an interesting form of sensation play. Cups can be used dry or wet - where the skin is pierced and blood is drawn up into the cup.

Bonus: the bottom often ends up looking like they lost a fight with a giant squid/octopus!

We will cover the difference between cupping for kink vs traditional medicine, safety, basic techniques with fire cups as well as a few alternatives if fire isn’t your thing (or you’re somewhere that fire is prohibited). We will discuss where to buy quality cups and what to avoid. Finally, we will go over what to expect afterwards and how to do cup-specific aftercare.

Wax Play 101

Hot wax dripping over your partner's naked, vulnerable flesh will send shivers of excitement down their spine and a rush of warmth over their skin - nothing more - as you both enjoy the relaxing flickering of the candle-light.

Learn about the different types of wax that are acceptable for wax play, what types can be used for advanced players and what types should be avoided altogether. We will also discuss other sensation techniques to enhance the wax play experience including other forms of temperature play, the use of bladed scrapers to remove wax and more.

Safety considerations will feature prominently in the discussions as well a thorough understanding of the skin and how heat affects it. We will also cover emergency burn care so that you know what to do when things go wrong.

There will be a lecture-style portion of the class followed by live demos.

Recording:

If you are unable to attend the live class, it will be recorded. The recording and slides, as well as any links or other resources discussed in class will be sent to all ticket holders. Only my feed and the presentation are recorded, none of the participants are recorded, the chat is not recorded. The recording of the class is only available to ticket holders and will not be available to anyone else.

Workshop Access:

Tickets are on sale until 1 hour before class begins. When ticket sales close, 1 hour before the start of class, you will be sent the Webex link. Please check your spam folders if you do not see it. The email is sent via Eventbrite and can sometimes get caught in your inbox filters.

Presenter Bio:

Morgan Thorne has been practising BDSM all her adult life. She got an introduction to kink through the Queer community in the early 1990s and knew she had found ‘her people’.

Morgan has also spent a decade working as a Professional Dominant, which has allowed her to expand her skills as both a Top and a Dominant. Morgan has been offering workshops, lectures and BDSM training for a number of years as well. She has a successful Youtube channel where she educates about D/s relationships, BDSM basics and various kinky skills.

She is the author of two successful books about BDSM, including “Exploring BDSM: A Workbook for Couples (or More!) Discovering Kink“. A follow-up book is expected in early 2021.

Morgan identifies as both a Sadist and a Dominant. She enjoys playing with a variety of people of all orientations/genders/identities. BDSM is an integral part of her personal, romantic relationships. Morgan is both asexual and pan-romantic.

Prior to her work as a Professional Dominant, Morgan worked in health care. This has allowed her to gain a more thorough understanding of health and safety concerns in kink. She retired due to an injury that lead to chronic pain and disability. It also spurred her interest in medical play, a way to continue to use the skills she learned in health care and to find comfort in the loss of a much-loved career.

Morgan has been active in various forms of activism, including LGBTQIA rights and sex worker rights. She is a strong advocate for equality and the human rights of all people.
