Ignite the Senses with Blindfolded Yoga and Wine
Sat, 3 December 2016, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM PST
I G N I T E T H E S E N S E S
An evening for treating the senses to a smorgasbord of sensations, tastes and connection.
We will begin with Jazz leading a meditation to gather in any scattered peices of ourselves, an important tool for the upcoming holidays, followed with a blindfolded yoga journey and top it all off with a blind wine tasting from selected British Columbia wine producers hosted by a talented local sommelier, Tayler.
Proceeds will be going to support Rebecca's journey with www.imagine1day.com in Ethiopia.
Why Blindfolded yoga? - The challenging but humbling practice of yoga becomes even more powerful when we remove the reliance on our sight to compare or compete. When we move without sight, our perception is shifted dramatically inward to the subtle sensations we may normally be too busy to noctice. The drive for perfection drops away and what remains is a complete comfort in our own skin.
Why Wine? - Just kidding, no one would actually ask that question...but a blind wine tasting will be the icing on the cake with a chance to really enjoy the depths and flavours of the wine. Tayler brings enormous experience in wine knowledge and truly stands out as a humble and inspiring teacher on "how-to-talk-about-wine" to the non-experts in the room.
Why Imagine1Day? - Rebecca has inspired many leaders in her community to live their most authentic life and now she is comminted to creating change through leadership coaching around the world. She will speak to the value of taking the leadership training to Ethiopia to elevate the education system by hosting 325 teachers, government officials and community leaders through a fully facilitated training.
