About this event
IGNITING Women in Business provides rural women entrepreneurs an opportunity to connect, learn and build their network. Through a series of initiatives including a speaker series, young women in business galas, and retreat we hope to inspire and empower diverse rural women in business across Nova Scotia.
The theme is 'relearning through a women's lens'. The sessions will offer a space for women to discuss challenges that are faced by rural women in entrepreneurship.
To kickstart the program, this three-part speaker series will provide women in business a chance to learn from other entrepreneurs' experiences and expand their local network. At our New Glasgow location, Cheryl MacLean, founder of the Marmalade Motel in Port Dufferin, NS will be speaking about her entrepreneurial journey. In Yarmouth, we will be joined by Erin Norman of Lazy Bear Brewing in Smiths Cove. Each speaker will be live-streamed between locations to expand guests’ network with others across Nova Scotia. After the speakers have shared their entrepreneurial journeys, there will be an opportunity for attendees to network and socialize afterward.
Attendees can also tune in virtually, via Zoom.
There will be a watch party at Navigate Startup House in Sydney, Cape Breton.
Light food & beverages will be provided.
