Operational Auditing – Assessing Organizational Risks
This breakfast and learn session will be held on Wednesday, October 19th, at the Calgary Petroleum Club, located at 319 5 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 0L6.
Registration, mingling and networking for this session will begin at 7:45 am with the presentation running from 8:15 am– 9:15 am with a ten minute Q&A after. Breakfast will be served at 8:00 am.
As organizations internal and external conditions keep changing, internal audit will have to adapt to meet the evolving demands of the Board of Directors and management. Internal audit functions that develop audit plans that go beyond the traditional financial and compliance functional areas are more effective and deliver the most value to the business. As result of the changing business landscape, some of the most critical risks impacting the strategic goals and objectives are often found in the operational functional area.
This session discusses how internal audit can engage with the business in assessing the organizations most critical operational risks. The presentation will address:
• the increased emphasis within operational areas
• areas that are top of mind for companies in the Energy & Resource industry
• an approach for completing operational reviews.
