Metadata and discoverability: Help algorithms make sense of your web site
A presentation for digital content creators
Search engines are getting smarter. They are evolving beyond the list of blue links to a quick answer box with connections to related content and entities. Metadata help search engines understand content and context to generate the most accurate results possible. This why your content and site should be built with both people and machines in mind.

In this hands-on presentation (bring your laptop), we will see:
  • How search engines use metadata and Wikipedia to understand the content of a page;
  • How to do simple metadata discoverability tests;
  • How to effectively use metadata in a discoverability plan and inyour next wesite upgrade.
