About this event
Valerie’s debut y/a novel was published in 2002. Since then, she has expanded her writing to include books for children of all ages and has published 30 books for young people. She spends part of her day writing and part of it in servitude to a very demanding cat. Birdspell tells the story of Corbin Hayes, whose life is built around his mom’s illness, with lost jobs, constant moves, new schools and no friends…. until the day Corbin is forced to do the one thing he fears the most.
Valerie joins us all the way from New Brunswick for an interactive discussion about what inspires her to write and how you can become a writer too. She’ll answer audience questions so come prepared with yours!
