Event description

Description

Canada in general and Nova Scotia in particular needs to attract and keep immigrants. These people bring both great skills and truly diverse experiences and including them in our workforce will greatly help Canada to grow and prosper. This event, sponsored by Startup Halifax and the Halifax Library, is aimed at: students “from away” who wish to stay in our country, entrepreneurs from other lands interested in establishing new businesses here and Canadian businesses interested in hiring employees from outside Canada. The event could be best described as "Answers to your questions about immigration, visas, express entry and permanent residency."

Speakers and panel participants will include: Immigration lawyers, Staff from ISANS, NS Immigration and the Federal Immigration Department, as well as representatives of other agencies involved in immigration and individuals who have participated in key new immigration programs. Aside from providing great insight into the many and varied programs available and the requirements to qualify for them, the speaker group will form a Q&A panel and answer specific questions from the attendees. The event will end with refreshments and an opportunity for networking and one-on-one discussions. It is a great opportunity to learn about the relevant programs and to meet people truly interested in supporting and assisting new residents.
