Immigration Updates and Q&A for International Students
Event Information
About this Event
This session is for international students at SFU.
Last year brought many changes and updates to Canadian immigration policies and processes for international students at SFU. As Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continues to introduce new policy adjustments for international students, you may have questions about how these changes might impact you.
Please join an International Student Advisor, Immigration Specialist, for a brief overview of recent updates regarding immigration and medical insurance for international students, and to ask any questions you may have.
The topics covered in this session will include:
- Immigration policy updates, including updates on Canada’s travel restrictions and exemptions for international students
- Important reminders/deadlines
- Medical insurance updates for international students
- Q&A
You have the option to submit questions when you register so that these can be forwarded to the facilitator in advance. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the live session. We will answer as many questions as we can.
*Please note that this session only covers immigration & medical insurance related topics and is not a platform to ask case-specific questions. If you would like to talk to an International Student Advisor one-on-one regarding your case, please visit our Connect With Us page for a list of options.
We strongly encourage you to visit our COVID-19 FAQs for international students as well as our Resources page before submitting any questions, as your questions may be answered there.
