Event description

Description

Attracting good members is vital to the success of our co-ops. Which is why we employ the member application and interview process to help us decide if the applicant is a good fit for co-op living. However, what questions are you allowed to ask? What questions can’t you ask? What information can you consider when making the decision to accept or reject the application? This workshop will focus on the human rights obligations during the application and selection of members to housing co-ops. During this workshop, you’ll learn:

  • What questions to include on the co-op housing application form;
  • How to select new members and how you can apply the following:
    • Credit check;
    • Language; and
    • Participation in the co-op
  • How to create an inclusive and respective housing for all members while
    • preventing harassment
    • accommodating members

Facilitator:

Cost: $65 / person
NACHA will invoice your co-op immediately following the event.
