Description

Presenter: Alberto Velasco & Amine Abdelmoula, World Trade Centre Winnipeg

If selling finished products or making products is your business, buying from other countries may be the most competitive option for you. Consumers and companies no longer exclusively make their purchases locally. Just look around you and check the ‘Made in …’ label in the products you buy, chances are you will find products being brought in from many different countries. Importing can be a lucrative venture as Canadians enjoy a wide selection of products from around the globe. In this seminar, you will learn the basic steps of importing to reduce your risk and anxiety facing this new adventure.

Attendee will learn the following:

1. Identifying key players
2. Determining the required documents and permits
3. Leave with a checklist of key steps to start importing

Alberto Velasco joined the WTC Winnipeg in early 2014, currently leading trade development initiatives between Manitoba and Latin America, China and India. In Mexico, Alberto helped local companies get export ready for the U.S. market. In Canada, he has coordinated business and diplomatic delegations between Manitoba and global markets such as Mexico, Chile, Brazil and China.

A native of Tunisia, Amine Abdelmoula holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Université de Saint-Boniface. In 2014, he joined the World Trade Centre Winnipeg as a Researcher and Information Officer. Amine provides insight on foreign and local markets to entrepreneurs. He has a solid understanding of how to properly execute research in order to obtain pertinent information for clients.
