Improv Counselling for ADHD & Asperger's in Guelph (4 Sessions)
Wed, 19 Apr 2017, 8:00 PM – Wed, 10 May 2017, 9:30 PM EDT
The ADHD & Asperger’s Centre of Guelph is proud to announce the launch of a new four-week program that uses Improv Counselling as a means to help participants learn more about themselves and others. Theatre as an outlet is therapeutic in many ways, and can help participants build a better understanding of social cues and listening skills.
This program offers a unique opportunity for participants to have fun with like-minded individuals in a safe and welcoming environment, where they can make new friends and grow in awareness. Research shows other likely benefits of these sessions include:
- Noticing patterns in your relationships and learning how to change them
- Decreasing social anxiety
- Understanding and processing your emotions
- Learning to recognize the emotions of others
- Improving your interactions/resourcefulness in stressful situations
- Building self-esteem
- Increasing your empathy, listening, and communication skills
- Having fun!
This class is for adults (aged 16-160). You don't need a diagnosis to take this series. Though this class is specialized for those with ADHD & Asperger's, it will be be super beneficial to those with neither as well.
