Why Improvisation?

Improvisation is a skill that requires listening, honesty and teamwork. Practicing impro skills forces individuals to put others before themselves, and acquire an acute awareness of their surroundings. With no script, improvisers rely on their ability to listen, adapt and create in order engage the audience through storytelling. Practicing improvisation betters communication skills and teaches students how listen carefully and share the spotlight.

About the Instructor

A Calgary based improviser/instructor, Anyssa McKee has been training, performing, and teaching at Loose Moose Theatre for over six years. In 2015, Anyssa lived in New York City where she studied at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, completing the improv and sketch comedy curriculum. Anyssa isn't improvising or teaching, she's completing her creative writing degree in English at the University of Calgary.
