There is a significant gap in awareness related to entitlements, understanding of processes for eligibility and untapped federal provincial credits, programs and services. We want to help plant the seeds for individuals and families and communities to start thinking strategically about new opportunities to protect futures in the community though knowledge and awareness. Individualized funding, accessibility legislation and other legal reform processes, reforms to asset testing, shared responsibility and increasing uptake on the RDSP form the basis of a shift in thinking about the future.
The workshop presentations and discussions will focus on strengths, build on what we have, explore ways of capitalizing on the programs and supports that currently exist.
