The Waterloo Region Inclusion Film Series presents:
It's a Double Feature: Including Samuel and Young Carers: Support Matters!
An event hosted by Bridges to Belonging, and with thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, Menno S Martin Contractor Ltd.
About Us: The Waterloo Region Inclusion Film Series screens films that will inspire, model, or challenge our thinking about what inclusion means. It is a chance for the community to come together and enjoy a film while considering what it means to be included. The Waterloo Region Inclusion Films Series is hosted by, and in support of, Bridges to Belonging.
About the Films
Including Samuel: Shot and produced over four years, Habib’s award-winning documentary film, Including Samuel, chronicles the Habib family’s efforts to include Samuel in every facet of their lives. The film honestly portrays his family’s hopes and struggles, as well as the experiences of four other individuals with disabilities and their families. Including Samuel is a highly personal, passionately photographed film that captures the cultural and systemic barriers to inclusion.
Young Carers: Support Matters: Young Carers: Support Matters is a short documentary film that portrays the lives of five young carers in Waterloo Region. It illustrates the diverse range of responsibilities young carers take on and reveals the impact of their experiences on different aspects of their lives. The film also demonstrates the outcomes as a result of the young carer experience. Read more about the Young Carers project at http://www.youngcarersproject.ca.
