Inclusion in the Community: What Does This Truly Mean to Children, Families...
Sat, 22 October 2016, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM MDT
Inclusion has become a buzz word, particularly in the context of schools, but what does this truly mean? This mini-conference will explore inclusion from different perspectives, specifically:
1. Inclusion from the perspective of children - presented by Shawn Reynolds, Registered Psychologist
2. Inclusion from the perspective of families - presented by Sheila Chisholm, school consultant and owner of Infinite Resources Inc.
3. Inclusion from the perspective of schools - presented by Rebecca Arthurs, teacher and WRAP Works Program Facilitator (Wellness Recovery Action Plan www.wrapworksprogram.ca). Rebecca will also discuss the importance of wellness from all three perspectives, referencing the WRAP Works Program.
Registration fee of $25 will directly benefit the initiatives of Plugged In Community Centre Organization, whose goal is to establish a multi-tenant community facility in St. Albert that will offer supportive, inclusive programming.
While Leo Nickerson Elementary School has graciously allowed us to hold this event in their gymnasium, it is not affiliated with St. Albert Public Schools.
