Inclusive Leadership & Intercultural Skills - For Leaders

Leaders are critical to creating more inclusive workplace environments. This session will explore the leader’s role and enhance understanding of inclusive workplaces and managing intercultural teams. The engaging and interactive session provides a frank conversation about the complex difficulties of leading more diverse and inclusive organizations and teams, and what is required to convert a team’s diversity into innovation. The session will explore different kinds of diversity, and how to foster a work environment where people with profound differences thrive. A research-based framework for what inclusive workplace behavior and leadership is and aims to achieve will be provided, using the recent report by Deloitte on whenemployees feel included.


Learning Outcomes:

 Understand different kinds of diversity and the impact and value of cultural differences

  • Understand organizational processes for fostering inclusive work environments, and the leader’s role in these
  • Be familiar with the stages of personal change that must occur to formalize an intercultural mindset
  • Enhance intercultural fluency

Alden is one of Canada’s leading diversity and inclusion strategists and facilitators. He is well known in this field and highly regarded for his fifteen years of impact, and his innovative work around inclusive leadership, unconscious bias and intercultural training. He works with leadership in a wide range of professions and sectors throughout Canada, including the legal community, social services, the public sector, municipalities, first responders, and large private corporations.
