Tansi,
Please join us as we showcase the variety of employment opportunities in our Aerospace and Aviation Industry in Manitoba.
What a difference a year can make! In January 2020 we held the first Indigenous Aerospace and Aviation Showcase. The agenda included six (6) Indigenous speakers who shared stories of their own educational journeys on their way to their current places of employment in the aerospace and aviation industries. The event was a big success, with over 20 employer/educational booths and 240 individuals attending the event.
Manitoba Aerospace collaborates on a variety of initiatives to ensure that Indigenous people are aware of careers in the local aerospace and aviation industries and of the educational/training pathways to those careers.
COVID-19 has had a big impact on Manitoba Aerospace's ability to meet face to face with and talk to youth, adults, educators and our companies about careers pathways in our sector.
In an attempt to safely address the issue, Manitoba Aerospace is again partnering with the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development (CAHRD) to plan and deliver a second showcase which will be a virtual event via Zoom.
We know that many companies are not currently hiring but we also know that the pandemic will pass – hopefully in 2021 – and that as travel becomes more accessible and available again, the industry will need skilled workers. One of our jobs at Manitoba Aerospace is to ensure that the educational pathways to the careers in our industry stay operating so that when the pandemic ends, we will have people ready to apply for positions in the sector.
Manitoba Aerospace and CAHRD will host the second Indigenous Aerospace and Aviation Showcase on:
