Mark your calendars! We are getting ready to start the Indigenous Foodscapes Project activities for the new school year by reconnecting at UBC sites on Thursday, August 30th from 2-7pm. We will start off at the UBC Farm and then head to the Museum of Anthropology to explore different methods of cultural storytelling. Please register through eventbrite for the sections you would like to attend. We hope to connect with at least one school representative.

UBC FARM - 3461 Ross Drive, Vancouver, BC

2-3pm : Guided tour of the Indigenous Garden initiatives by Wilson Mendes - http://ubcfarm.ubc.ca/community/indigenous-initiatives/. We will meet at the entrance of UBC Farm right at 2pm. This is a great opportunity to gather inspiration for your school garden.

MUSEUM OF ANTHROPOLOGY - 6393 NW Marine Dr, Vancouver, BC
($10.00+tax entrance fee to be paid on Thursday night)

4-5pm : Guided tour of the "Culture at the Centre" exhibit at MOA by Jill Baird (Curator of Education) - https://moa.ubc.ca/exhibition/culture-at-the-centre/. This exhibit focuses on land and language, continuity and communities, and repatriation and reconciliation.

5-6:30pm : MOA Multiversity gallery workshop led by Jill Baird. This workshop will bring a new perspective to the Indigenous Foodscapes project through the exploration of objects and activities connected to cultural food and storytelling. There will also be an option to explore the MOA grounds for a plant ID activity.

6:30-7pm- Closing circle at the Haida House to share your experiences and thoughts about professional development workshops.
