This seminar will discuss the importance of Indigenous health data, community ownership, governance and stewardship. Dr. Janet Smylie, Sara Wolfe and Cheryllee Bourgeois will outline some of the Indigenous health and wellbeing data challenges in Canada, providing their own practical research, program and policy insight. Dr. Ray Lovett will focus on the development of the Mayi Kuwayu study, which will be the first Australian large-scale collaborative cohort and data-linkage study to investigate the inter-relationships of Aboriginal culture and cultural experiences, socio-demographic, environmental factors, health behavior and health outcomes.
