Event description

Description

Learn about the Indigenous Opportunities in Nuclear (ION) program at OPG's Open House on Friday October 26, 2018 between 10 a.m. and 3.00 p.m, being held at the Darlington Energy Complex. ION is designed to increase the number of Indigenous people working in the nuclear industry using the Darlington Nuclear Refurbishment project as a catalyst. Careers in the building trades include boilermakers, electricians, millwrights and general labourers among others.

Participants at this exciting event will get the chance to speak with OPG program staff, building trade representatives, employers, contractors, and mentors about ION as well as other current and future employment opportunities.

Participants will also enjoy an up-close view of the world’s first live-scale nuclear reactor mock-up and a bus tour of the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station.
