Event description

Description

OPG's Open House gives visitors a chance to learn about the organization and many of our key innovative projects, inclduing Darlington refurbishment -- one of Canada's largest clean energy projects. The Indigenous Opportunities in Nuclear (ION) program uses refurbishment as a catalyst to create employment and training opportunities in the building trades and the nuclear industry generally. Indigenous people are encouraged to participate in the event and meet with ION reprsentatives.

This year's event theme is interactive innovation. Exhibitors will display immersive experiences, from VR tours inside a nuclear facility to OPG's mock-up reactor to bus tours of the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, plus an Adventure Zone. Innovations during the day include electric vehciles, solar power, energy storage and small modular reactors.
