Event description

Description

The Down Syndrome Association of Hamilton in partnership with Anderson Speech Consultants (ASC) is excited to offer a 4 week Infant Feeding Support Group.
Amanda Cotton, a Speech-Language Pathologist, has recently joined the ASC team from Edmonton, Alberta, where she worked in an acute care hospital and was responsible for feeding and swallowing assessments in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She worked with a variety of children with feeding difficulties, including children with Down Syndrome. Amanda is excited to share information regarding the development of feeding skills, how early feeding skills can impact speech development, and strategies for safe and pleasurable feeding.
Come with your baby and your questions about breast feeding, bottle feeding, and alternative methods of feeding, like tube feeding. Informal information sharing will occur along with observations of feeding.
These sessions will focus on ages 0 to 24 months.

NOTE
For moms who are NOT able to attend in person but would like to ask questions, we will be offering a CONFERENCE CALL portion from 11:30 am to 12:00 noon - Please register and provide your email address so that we are able to pass along the conference call information
