Event description

Description

Join us for an informative evening on infection prevention and control (IPAC) information for community health care providers. Public Health Ontario and Hamilton Public Health Services will be presenting information on what you need to know about IPAC lapses and new provincial government requirements around lapse investigations and disclosure, as well as information on common IPAC lapses in community healthcare settings and reprocessing.

The event will be helpful for physicians, nurses, dentists, midwives and any healthcare provider in the community.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify:

  • The top five high risk IPAC practices linked to patient infections

  • Common and serious IPAC lapses or breaches that can occur in a community office setting

  • Risk strategies to prevent and control transmission of infection to patients and staff;

  • Key contacts and resources to support effective IPAC practices in the clinical office setting; and

  • Best practices for medical device reprocessing in clinical office settings;

  • The role of the local Public Health Unit in responding to IPAC complaints from the public.

Please join us for an informative evening. Refreshments will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you!
