Mitacs and Innovation York: Delivering Innovation Through Research, Development and Training

Mitacs is a national non-profit organization that delivers innovation through supporting collaborative research & development projects between companies and academic institutions.

Innovation York facilitates and maximizes the commercial, economic, and social impacts of research & innovation, and creates a culture of engaged scholarship and experiential learning.

Join Wil and Rachel as they discuss the various Mitacs and Innovation York opportunities available to companies and help you identify the appropriate funding opportunities for R&D projects. There will also be a number of 1-on-1 opportunities following the presentation segment for those interested.

Wil de Vega is a Business Development Specialist with Mitacs and Rachel Sung is a Business Development Specialist with Mitacs and Innovation York. They work with various stakeholders in industry and academia to identify the appropriate funding opportunities for R&D projects. They have supported projects of various sizes, ranging from four months to multi-year collaborations, and connected companies with the appropriate academic expertise to solve their R&D challenges.

Getting to ventureLAB:

Parking is available in the guest parking area of the IBM Headquarters at 3600 Steeles Avenue East in Markham. From Pharmacy Road/Esna Park Road, enter into the IBM driveway and follow the signage directing you to the guest parking. All parking is free. If taking transit, enter via Esna Park Road on the north side of Steeles Avenue.
