About this event

If you are considering becoming a living kidney donor and have questions about how to become a donor, the assessment process and the recovery process, this interactive webinar session may help.

We will provide an overview of the Living Donor Kidney Program, information on the assessment process for living kidney donors and an opportunity for frequently asked questions and answers.

This webinar takes place on the first Tuesday of every month. It is scheduled over the lunch hour in order to accommodate those who work regular business hours, or for whom travel to downtown Toronto is inconvenient.

Pre-registration is required. Please Select a Date and Register to reserve your space. A follow-up email containing webinar login/call-in details will be sent to all registrants.

If you have questions or would like more information about these sessions, please email

You may also want to view the Kidney Living Donation & Transplantation playlist on the Centre's Youtube channel.

If you registered, please check your email or sign in to your Eventbrite account to access the webinar link.

About the organizer

For those in need of a kidney or liver transplant, living organ donation may offer a shorter pathway to better health - providing faster access to transplant and a quicker recovery. But there are not enough living donors to meet the need.

The Centre for Living Organ Donation was created by UHN Transplant (now the Ajmera Transplant Centre) in 2018 to improve access to living organ donation for people who need a life-saving kidney or liver transplant and those who want to give a transformative gift of life.

We raise awareness, provide support, promote research and offer hope to thousands of people who are waiting for a kidney or liver transplant - and everyone who wants to be part of their future.

We are located at Toronto General Hospital, a member of the University Health Network (UHN), also home to Toronto Western Hospital, the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and The Michener Institute of Education at UHN. Toronto General Hospital has been at the top of Canada's Top 40 Research Hospitals list since 2011, and in 2020, was named one the world's Top 10 Hospitals by Newsweek magazine.

The Ajmera Transplant Centre is the largest organ transplant program in North America. We also partner with SickKids on the largest paediatric living donor transplant program in Canada.
