Do you want to learn more about leadership for youth?

The Innovate & Inspire Leadership Workshop is a free one-day event for high school students who live, work or attend school near Dufferin/Bloor.

*NEW* TIME: 12:30 to 3:20pm (pizza lunch will be provided)
LOCATION: 533C Gladstone Avenue, Toronto (near Dufferin Station)
COST: free!

Workshop Agenda
12:30 - 1:00 pm pizza lunch (free!)

1:00 - 1:30 pm introductions/welcome and ice-breaker game
1:30 - 2:30 pm speaker panel “your experiences in getting started in leadership”
2:30 - 3:30 pm leadership exercises and group discussion on leadership for youth

This workshop is organized in collaboration with the On Your Mark academic support program run by the Working Women Community Centre, a charitable organization that has been making a difference in the lives of Toronto’s immigrant women and their families since 1974. Through our work over the decades, we see time and again that access to the right programs and services build healthy communities.

The Innovate & Inspire Leadership Workship for youth is funded by a grant through Canada Service Corps, which is funded by the Government of Canada.

FAQs

Is there a cost to attend this event?

This youth workshop is free for all high-school students. All you need is an interest in learning more about leadership.

Are youth who are not in the Dufferin/Bloor area also eligible to attend?

Due to the mission of the Working Women Community Centre, first priority goes to students from the Dufferin/Bloor community. However, following first round registrations any remaining spaces will be made available to the wider public.

Who are the panelists?

The panelists are members with established ties to the Dufferin/Bloor community. To reflect the wide range of possible leadership experiences the panel includes leaders from a variety of educational and career backgrounds. Their biographies can be found in the poster found on this registration page.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The community centre is located within a few minutes walk of TTC's Dufferin Station. The cost of transportation for workshop participants may be covered depending on availability of funding (details to be sent to registered workshop participants).
