Event Details

 The MarCom Toolkit workshops

(3 sessions, 4 hours each)

 

Entrepreneur's Toolkit Workshops are experiential, hands-on workshops facilitated by experienced entrepreneurs. The workshops offer ventures tools, mentoring and peer feedback to solve specific problems and develop essential business components.

In each four-hour session you will generate a deliverable that you will use frequently in the business development process.

 Workshop Schedule

 

February 28

12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

 

Session 1 – The Dimensions of MarCom

Explore the importance of a cohesive MarCom strategy by identifying key opinion leaders in your field and planning how to contact them.

Deliverable: A strategy to engage with thought leaders in your field.

March 7

12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

 

Session 2 – Developing Your MarCom Strategy

Evaluate and prioritize the different media channels and messages that resonate with your target customer(s).

Deliverable: A marketing strategy that complements your customer’s buying process.

March 21

12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

 

Session 3 – Communicating to Customers

Identify the language you will use to explain your business to potential customers and the media.

Deliverable: A series of sound bites for communications.

Cost of workshops

The Entrepreneur's Toolkit Workshops are valued at $560 per session but are charged at $100 per series. The Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE) covers the cost for its clients.

MaRS clients are automatically ONE clients since MaRS is a member of ONE. if you are not a client of MaRS or ONE, please visit onebusiness.ca to see how to become a client at the Regional Innovation Centre (RIC) near you. 

  • Both clients and non-clients can attend this workshop. if you are a client of MaRS or ONE, please declare this by selecting a ONE Client Refundable Deposit ticket.
  • Your $100 deposit will be held until you have completed all sessions in the series as well as the end of series survey.
  • If you are a non-client, please select a General Attendance ticket. You will recieve a 10% discount on your ticket price for completing the end-of-series survey. 
If you are unable to attend a workshop session, please let us know four business days in advance. We regret that failure to do so may result in the loss of your deposit. 

All participants will need to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). For more information, please contact workshops@marsdd.com.
