Event description
Explore and develop entrepreneurial skills through a mini-hackathon and win prizes!

About this Event

Do you want to explore entrepreneurship and gain valuable leadership skills? You are in luck!

Venture for Canada is presenting its interactive and informative Innovation Jam. The training and support offered in this event is perfect for students who are curious about  entrepreneurship, pitch competitions or hackathons, but unsure if it the right space for them.

All students walk away with the skills training and network building benefits of the day, while the winning teams walk away with cash prizes.

The day will consist of interactive workshops on:

  • Pitching + persuasion
  • Building teams
  • Self-awareness + strength identification
  • Creative problem solving
  • Project planning + prioritizing

All of this is topped off with a pitch competition where your team will pitch a solution for a real business problem faced by a local Newfoundland startup.

Besides cash prizes, what will you get out of it?:

  • Professional skills
  • Enhanced critical thinking
  • Practical public speaking skills and experience
  • Exposure to the entrepreneurial ecosystem

*This event is held on a Saturday and runs from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Venture for Canada is a national charity developing entrepreneurial leadership skills through training and supporting youth to work at innovative Canadian startups and small businesses. You can learn more about their internship and fellowship programs HERE.
