Description

Innovation Prospects for Canada: The Industry Perspective

Canada has a great opportunity to benefit from the emergence of innovative technologies.

A moderated panel of three panelists will highlight the R&D investments their companies and corporate Canada are making. Their discussion will focus on Canada's assets and why companies have chosen to locate, build, and grow their operations here, while also investigating the challenges the private sector faces in pursuing an innovation agenda.

Jill Green, FCAE, is CEO of Green Imaging Technologies, Inc., which provides innovative software solutions to the oil and gas industry. Her company was founded in 2006 to commercialize technologies developed at the University of New Brunswick.

Allan F. Miranda is Head of Johnson & Johnson Innovation (JLABS) in Canada. He is responsible for innovation sourcing, company on-boarding, portfolio management, operational excellence, educational programming and patenting and licensing.

David Ross, FCAE, is CEO of Ross Video. With R&D labs in Ottawa, manufacturing in Iroquois (Ontario) and offices around the world, his company delivers technology and services that power live video productions seen by billions. Since 1991, the company has grown from 25 employees to a global company with over 700 employees.
