The Government of Canada has just announced 9 new cleantech challenges sponsored by Environment and Climate Change Canada and other departments, through the Innovative Solutions Canada (ISC) program.
Come to MaRS Discovery District on the morning of February 20 to learn about the program and the new challenges, as well as hear from the departments who are looking to fund the development of new innovative solutions.
The new challenges are focused on the following problems/needs:
- Finding sustainable alternatives to plastic packaging
- Reducing plastic waste from textiles
- Diverting end-of-life vehicles’ plastic from landfills
- Reducing e-waste
- Seeking solutions for air purification
- Monitoring microplastics in marine environments
- Recycling plastic into ceiling tiles
- Developing waste conversion techniques
- Developing energy producing window coverings
ISC operates two streams with a combined funding of over $140 million dedicated to Canadian innovators who want to start, grow, and get to market.
