Event description

Description

Insight Dialogue (ID) is an interpersonal meditation practice bringing the mindfulness and tranquility of silent meditation directly into our experience with other people. We will be guided into the six practice guidelines of Insight Dialogue and explore the joy of developing spiritual friendships. The Buddha described spiritual friendship as the “whole of the holy life.” In this retreat we will contemplate the qualities and power of our fundamental human relationality and investigate our capacity for cultivating spiritual friendship in the service of awakening together.

We will investigate Speaking and Listening as meditative practices held and nourished by the deep foundation of silent practice. There will be periods of silent practice, alternating with meditation together in dyads, triads and small groups.

For more info on Insight Dialogue go to www.metta.org.

Times: Friday 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Saturday 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Sunday 9:30 am to 3:30 pm

Optional dinner on Saturday evening to explore practice in daily life.

Location: Chatham, ON - exact facility TBA

Cost: $50 for the entire retreat. This does not include Dana (donation) for teacher.

Our teachers generously volunteer the great majority of their work for developing and teaching
programs and as such participants are invited to offer a donation (Dana) at the end of the retreat. There is no set amount and no expectations. The practice of generosity is individual.

Please do not let the $50 fee prevent you from joining us. Scholarships are available. Please contact info@kalyanamittata.com for more info.

Food: Beverages and snacks will be provided. Please bring a lunch or join us at one of our local restaurants where we will pre-arrange/pre-reserve a vegetarian menu for a group lunch (additional cost).

He resides in Toronto and practices meditation with many people around the world.
