How do we return Indigenous culture to the lands it came from? How do we integrate traditional ways of being in a contemporary context? How can Indigenous design principles help shape the future of our city and region?

Come and hear from Cultural Liaisons from the xʷməθkʷəy᾽əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱ wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations as they share how stories, ideas, wisdom and aspirations from their knowledge keepers, elders and communities set the foundation for planning and design of the ʔəy̓alməxw/Iy̓álmexw/Jericho Lands.

The Cultural Liaisons

  • Charleen Grant, xʷməθkʷəy᾽əm (Musqueam)
  • Sxelaltenaat-Adrienne Charlie and Ts’kanchtn-Calvin Charlie-Dawson, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish)

About the organizer

The Jericho Lands Interactive Design Workshops are co-hosted by the joint venture of Canada Lands Company ("CLC") and the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh ("MST") Partnership together with the City of Vancouver to bring the community together as part of the development of a policy statement for the future of the Jericho Lands.

The City of Vancouver is leading the development of a policy statement that will set out a comprehensive plan and vision for the 90-acre Jericho Lands site. The combined site is composed of two parcels: 52 acres owned by the joint venture of CLC and the MST Partnership, and 38 acres owned by the MST Partnership.
