Institute for Change Leaders: Communication Series
Event Information
Description
The good work of too many NGOs is not known outside of their base. This affects fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and campaign effectiveness.
The Institute for Change Leaders is excited to offer two customized workshops to help refine your messages, improve your individual presentation skills, and learn strategies to increase your profile and effectiveness.
The Fundamentals of Persuasive Public Speaking
During our first workshop, participants will learn how to deliver a message with clarity and impact, as well as how to respond to challenging questions both authentically and on-message.
WHEN: February 26th, 2019, 6pm-9pm
WHO: Brendan Agnew-Iler, Director of Public Affairs at Argyle Public Relationships, former Senior Advisor for Toronto Mayor David Miller; joined by Olivia Chow.
Effective Communication for Social Change
Our second workshop will show you how to improve your ability to communicate effectively with key audiences and the abundance of vehicles available to you to accomplish your communication goals. You will learn how to craft your stories to move your supporters and your community to action.
WHEN: March 5th, 2019, 6pm-9pm
WHO: Patrick Gossage, one of Canada's premier media relations experts, former Press Secretary for Pierre Trudeau and founder of Media Profile; joined by Olivia Chow.
Join us on February 26th, 2019 and March 5th, 2019 from 6pm-9pm!
The cost is $70 for both workshops. We want to make sure everyone can attend who needs it, so if you need a subsidy or scholarship to attend, please email changeleaders@ryerson.ca. If you can only attend one of the workshops, get in touch and we'll be happy to make arrangements.
