Event description

Description

This workshop will focus on Institutuional Ethnography and will be in two parts.

Morning Session 9:30 – 11:30: The first part of the workshop will involve an in-depth discussion of IE with Dorothy Smith. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss theory, methodologies and methods, textual analysis, data collection and analyses used in Institutional Ethnography

Afternoon Session 1:30 – 3:00: The afternoon session will be a round table discussion where participants are invited to make a brief (10 minute) presentation of their work, followed by a discussion of the work thus far and suggestions from Dorothy and other participants for next steps. This session is meant to be particularly useful to individuals who are using IE in their research or interested in how they might use IE to think about and do their research differently. This will also be an opportunity to for novice researchers to gain valuable insight into the research process.

Participants are welcome to register for either the morning or afternoon session OR both sessions.
