Event Information
Description
Toronto’s interactive digital media industry is robust and growing! The ascendance of app developers and video game producers in the job market is exciting and undeniable.
Despite booming growth in the industry, competition is fierce. What do emerging app and game developers need to know in order to succeed? What have successful developers done and what pitfalls must be avoided? How do you access government tax credits? What are the legal considerations for producers?
We can answer all your questions! On June 3, 2019, Artists’ Legal Advice Services (ALAS) is pleased to present "Interactive Digital Media & The Law: A Roundtable Discussion for Emerging Artists". This event is a panel discussion chaired by intellectual property lawyer Catherine Lovrics (Bereskin & Parr LLP) and is geared toward indie developers seeking advice from industry experts.
ALAS has invited a panel of experienced professionals within the IDM business to share their thoughts and expert advice. Our panel includes:
-
Emmanuel Evdemon, Mediaslaw
-
Matthew Walach, Insert Coin Accounting
-
Rob Segal, Get Set Games
-
Shelley Coultish, Canada Media Fund
Doors open at 6:30pm. The panel discussion will start promptly at 7:00pm.
Pay what you can. ALAS suggests a minimum donation of $10 per person.
We hope to see you there!
