About this event
The Intermedi for La Pellegrina is a series of musical interludes that were performed during a lavish wedding celebration held in Florence in 1589. The wedding was between Ferdinando I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany, and Princess Christina of Lorraine. The Intermedi, which were created by a team of artists, musicians, and poets, were meant to be a lavish and extravagant display of the wealth and power of the Medici family.
Capriccio will perform this renaissance pageant accompanied by the internationally acclaimed Orchestra Contrasto Armonico directed by Marco Vitale. This will be Marco's last engagement in Victoria before returning to Europe to take up his appointment as conductor of Orchestra 1756 in Vienna and to tour internationally with Jordi Saval and Les Concerts Des Nations.
