Description

The Clearly Musical Home Concert Series, hosted by Joanna Grace, features musicians in up-close experiences in the Heart of Richmond Hill. These concerts bridge the gap between audiences and performers. You will have the opportunity to clearly see and hear the musicians and ask questions to learn more about the music and the performers!

ABOUT SAE YOON CHON

Sae Yoon made his debut with the Cleveland Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Jahja Ling at the age of 18. Since then, he has performed with the Orchestra de Valencia , the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Conservatory Orchestra, Astana Symphony Orchestra, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, and the Hanoi Philharmonic. He has collaborated with conductors Tania Miller, Burno Aprea, Young Min Park, John Morris Russell, Jahja Ling, Erzhan Dautov, and Jakyung Year.

He has been awarded numerous prizes at international piano competitions, including 3rd prize ar 2018 LA International Piano Competition, 2nd prize and special prize at 2017 Jose Itrubi International Piano Competition , 5th Prize at the 2017 Seoul International Piano Competition, 3 rd Prize at the 2016 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, 3 rd Prize at the 2014 Cooper International Piano Competition in Oberlin, 4 th Prize at the 2013 Hilton Head International Piano Competition for Young Artists, 3 rd Prize in the 2013 International Festival and Competition for Young Pianists, 1 st Prize and the Best Classical Work Player award in the 2012 Hanoi International Piano Competition, and 2 nd Prize in the 2012 Isidor Bajic Memorial Piano Competition in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Sae Yoon started playing the piano at age of six, and continued his studies at the Yewon Art School and the Seoul Arts High School where his teachers included Professor Hyoung-Joon Chang. He is currently studying with John O’Conor and James Anagnoson at The Glenn Gould School, where he is also the recipient of the full-tuition Liliane Szenteleky - de Kresz Scholarship.

1) Who is this event best suited for? Age 12 and up are welcome to attend. This event requires sitting attentively and quietly for 1 hour at a time. This event is best suited for those interested in live musical performances and being up close to see and hear clearly.

2) What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Free street parking is available. Close to Yonge Street, this Richmond Hill home is accessible by public transport. Details are sent with your RSVP and payment. Please be aware that this location is not wheelchair accessible and has steps to the front door and also to the washroom inside. If you have challenges with stairs, please communicate your concerns with the organizer before purchasing a ticket.

3) If you have pet or food allergies or sensitivities that may inhibit your enjoyment of this performance, please contact Joanna Grace before purchasing a ticket.

4) Can I purchase a ticket at the door? No, there are no ticket sales at the door. Because this a private residence and an intimate up-close experience, all seats must be reserved in advance.
